Meet Jacob - Design & Web Intern

Ray Nuñez

Co-Founder, CEO, Nuñez

At Nuñez & DobleImpact, we believe good design is more than aesthetics—it’s about clarity, accessibility, and storytelling that moves people. This summer, we’re thrilled to have Jacob Joel Gutierrez join us as our Design & Web Intern, supporting our visual storytelling across client work and internal campaigns.

From experimenting with brand concepts to building out visual systems for social media and digital spaces, Jacob is getting hands-on experience with the creative tools that shape impact. Read on to learn more about Jacob, what excites them about design, and how they’re approaching the summer with curiosity and creativity.

Tell us a little bit about you.

I'm a designer and storyteller currently working toward my MA in Communications (New Media & Marketing) at SNHU. I earned my BA in Mass Communication & Journalism from Fresno State, and I’ve worked on branding, behind-the-scenes of content creation, and social campaigns for agencies, nonprofits, and university departments. I’m passionate about using design to make ideas feel human, accessible, and impactful, especially when it comes to work that uplifts people and communities.

What are you most excited about for this summer internship?

Honestly, just being part of a team that cares deeply about what they’re creating. I’m excited to grow as a designer while working on projects that actually mean something and make a difference.

What strengths or skills are you looking to improve over the next 3 months?

I’m looking to grow across the board: creatively, professionally, and personally. I know I have a strong foundation, but I want to keep leveling up how I design, communicate, and contribute to work that matters. One of my goals is to improve how I manage creative projects from start to finish- organizing files, managing time, and staying ahead of deadlines. I want to build stronger habits that’ll help me thrive in fast-paced, client-facing work. I’m here to learn, and I’m all in.

Why did you choose to apply for an internship with Nuñez?

I really admire how Nuñez blends strong design with community-driven messaging. The mission felt like a great fit with my values and the kind of work I want to keep doing long term.

What does social impact mean to you?

For me, social impact means using your voice, skills, or platform to create space for others, especially those who’ve been left out of the conversation. It’s about being intentional, thoughtful, and honest in the way we communicate and design for the world we live in.
